Prestigious Ergonomics Warehouse Award for the Active Sway Control

Every year the Forklift Truck Association (FLTA) in the UK holds its famous FLTA Awards for Excellence to highlight the most eye-catching improvements and achievements in the materials handling industry. The CAT Lift Trucks Active Sway Control (ASC) for the High Level Order Picker was awarded with the “Archie” for Ergonomics.

This prestigious materials handling’s award recognizes the great contribution of this new feature to the operator’s working comfort. The new Active Sway Control (ASC), featuring hydraulic pressure sensors and specially developed software, calculates and applies the necessary counter-movement to minimise sway increasing ergonomics. It eliminates the uncomfortable feeling of the mast swinging excessively each time he/she brakes or accelerates. In addition, with ASC applied, delays are halved – increasing productivity by 6% in typical applications while the operator feels at ease in his workplace.

Nominated also in the category of Innovation, the ASC is a new approach to solving sway and is an industry-first innovation that brings increased productivity to the area of order picking.

18 March 2013 The Coldest Journey

The Coldest Journey is the first ever attempt to cross the Antarctic continent during the polar winter. Led by Sir Ranulph Fiennes ‘the world’s greatest living explorer’ (Guinness World Records), the traverse will take place between the two seasonal equinoxes, 21st March – 21st September, with the ice team travelling from Novo to the Ross Sea in the Antarctic winter. During this six month period the expedition team will have travelled 2,000 miles, mostly in complete darkness in temperatures as low as –90°C.

Caterpillar Inc. unveiled the first model in its new line of hybrid excavators, the Cat 336E H.The machine uses a new hydraulic hybrid technology developed by Caterpillar. The 336E was introduced primarily to meet Tier 4 Interim/Stage IIIB emissions standards, and like any new Cat machine, it includes several enhancements over its predecessor, including more horsepower with greater fuel efficiency, more lift capability, higher digging force and automatic aftertreatment regeneration.

However, this time he triumphed with two cups – the Track Championship and the Mountain Championship ones. The fastest racing car in Bulgaria – the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 E-max with which Tsarski won a victory over his competitors – has a motor of 650 h.p., 1000 Nm, OHLINS suspension, AP Racing brake system and a sequential gearbox, which changes gears within 0,026 seconds.

Caterpillar is introducing a revised line-up of 20-24 tonne E Series crawler excavators. The Cat® 320E, 323E and the reduced radius 320E RR adopt the EU Stage IIIB Cat C6.6 ACERTTM engine, providing reduced emissions and fuel consumption savings of up to 11%, compared to comparative D Series models while providing fuel savings of 8% and 9% respectively. Operators will appreciate an improved cab environment, with a wider range of seating including heating and cooling options.
