The restricted air traffic and the current economic situation were not an obstacle to Bauma 2010 – the biggest international fair for construction and mining machinery to achieve record-breaking results. The number of registered exhibitors was the highest ever – 3,150 from 53 countries, with 555,000 square metres of space. The visitors that attended Bauma were 415,000 from more than 200 countries - only 17 percent fewer than those in 2007, due to the flights cancelled because of the volcano ash. 17 percent fewer than in 2007, having in mind the restricted air traffic.
Caterpillar – the world leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment, sold 1752 machines to the total value of EUR 200 million during the exhibition. Thus, the brand broke the Bauma sales record of 2007 and gave an optimistic sign of the development of the construction equipment market in the world.
On the Caterpillar stand of 10,700 sq. mtrs, over 60 machines and innovative solutions were on display. The stress was put on the premieres of: M325D L material handler with port handling attachment, AP555E asphalt paver, 434E mechanical and 432E backhoe loaders, 988H large wheel loader, 50 DEM demolition excavator, TH417 telehandler, P200 series hydraulic concrete pulveriser and a new quarry body for the 770 rigid-frame off-highway truck. Other CAT representatives were on display as well – from the 301.6C mini hydraulic excavator to the 993K large wheel loader.
The area also presented information on Tier 4/Stage 3B solutions, the D7E electric drive track-type tractor, as well as connected worksite technology with next generation Product Link and new integrated Cat Grade Control.

15 December 2011 The new CAT electric powered lift trucks are ready to take the challenge
The electric lift truck is a formidable working machine. But one area of potential weakness has traditionally been its resistance to water and dirt, which can clog up vulnerable components like motors and brakes, interfere with electrics and help corrode the very body of the truck. These problems have now been very thoroughly addressed, however, with the launch of the new Cat® EP13-20(C)PN(T) range of electric forklifts. Available in lift capacities of 1.3, 1.5 tonnes (three-wheel versions) and 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 tonnes (three and four-wheel), the EP-PN(T) trucks all come as standard with IPx4 splash resistance...
