The seventh models of CAT M-Series motor graders reject the concept that graders are the most difficult machines to operate. For the first time the traditional 15 control levers and the steering wheel have been replaced by two joysticks only, resulting in improved visibility and unmatched productivity. The two electro-hydraulic joysticks, representing a revolution in the operational efficiency, reduce hand and wrist movement as much as 78 percent compared to conventional lever controls. Logical grouping of hydraulic functions in the joysticks allow any operator to easily control several functions at the same time. There are so many industry-exclusive features, incorporated in the M-Series that Caterpillar has applied for over 100 new patents while developing it. Some of these new features are the DCM (Drawbar Circle Moldboard) service ease and precise blade control, the new all-wheel-drive system, as well as the Power Management System, which automatically delivers an additional 5 horsepower in each forward gear 1st through 4th, and each reverse gear 1st through 3rd, which optimizes rimpull for all gears.
